a chance to meet with all of our san francisco chancellor and is i see chancellor here today from -- state and he joined me with chancellor helm man from uc s f city college our own public schools superintendentent to form a major education leadership counsel to advise me in making sure that the skill sets that we need in the jobs in the future are being trained and reflected in the education curriculum and how to support not only the institutions, but all of the different programs that we can use to lift up all of the educational stands for our youth i have person learn adopted 12 middle schools in san francisco to make sure each principal gets what they need to campus to support teachers effort on campus to raise the educational needs of the schools. middle school is the biggest challenge with truancy and educational challenges and we know that while we are increasing the performance stand of the whole cities one of the highest increases in the whole state is happening here in the public schools in san francisco they are to the satisfied with just a bump we need to taken it at the highe

defenders in the criminal system, in san francisco we try to go even further than that. last year they were making san francisco the rights to civil council city, the city of gideon. there are civil cases, eviction cases, family law cases where the consequences, the results followed in court are almost as severe to what gideon faced and what people face in criminal cases. what we recognize at the outset of the supervisors proclamation is part inspirational, our leaders in the community have rallied around it and the bar association and our firms have taken on more conviction cases. later we'll be holding an event to thank people in these positions and so please stay tuned about that. in the meantime let's focus on gideon and the public defenders role. i would say if there is ever a time and place to turn the tied and to bring the &m music back to gideon's trumpet. we thank you and look forward to a great day. thank you. and the process. the deal, the transaction i believe is a win win for the city of san francisco and for the medical center and the center health system. by the name, my name is gerardo. this agreement ruts results in a significantly larger hospital. 120 beds. a significantly smaller hospital. 255 beds. saint luke's hospital will be 25 of all the cpmc. it will continue to provide the level of care with no financial conditions or projections and i think we have solved what was an issue and initiated on the side of the hospital. over and above the on going care obligation of the hospital. the agreement is $90 million for cash benefit and others related to health care, affordable housing and pedestrian safety. that's an overview of the deal and you will hear, i'm going to be to make some acknowledgements an those that negotiated the contract, the development agreement as to specifics. the process was one that i came into with somewhat or some bit of trepdation. i have been involved and know what i know from the board of supervisors from what i read in the newspapers. i was concerned

. i think part of the answer is we do have good community services and support in san francisco and we have the best in the country and funded through the mental health services act. do they solve all the problems? absolutely not. do we need more? absolutely. to bring an additional court process that threatens people with enforcement measures and takes away right to self determination is at the core of this. the people that run the program in nevada county. the program that provisions the services, that program is available to people voluntarily. that only 4 people have been treated through the voluntary clause. that service is available to all people. 4 people were involuntary mandated to those services. couple of them succeeded, a couple didn't. the point is that the county where you have a chief of police who meets with the judge, who meets with the department of mental health or the head of the department of mental health have breakfast in their local coffee place. that model can work in a small community where you are going to know the clients and know the people that come

. officers don't know why the driver veered off the road. >>> a san francisco nightclub is closing down for good after a gunfire erupted over the weekend. police say three people were wounded in the shooting at the 330 rich club saturday morning. now there is road tonight from the san francisco entertainment commission that the owners surrendered their license. the commission was expected to investigate that club. >>> a judge set bail at $500,000 for the man accused of killing a newspaper vendor in january. 36-year-old mark anthony cassell is scheduled to be arraigned this week on one count of murder and elder abuse causing death. the victim, 77-year-old dallas ayers died after police say mark anthony cassell picked him up and threw him to the ground. >>> the sheriff's department is looking for this man who was mistakenly freed from jail. here is a picture. he posed as another inmate with a similar name and staff did not follow property identification procedures. he has a history of theft, and domestic violence. >>> a trial got underway to determine whether a city can enter bankruptcy.

, virtually know this law that i encounter. the san francisco department of public health provides a mailing every single year for the last seven years to all 1100 retailers, with all of these items in your packet you will see a copy of it in these four different languages. in fact we just sent ours out this year, at the first week of march. so just so you know, all retailers right now have just received the informational packet talking about sales to minors, and in addition when they applied to the state and the board of equalization to the tobacco sort of handling license and they received the education and there is an agency that some of it comes from which is an enforcement agency that does inspections locally as well. there is a lot of opportunities to be educated about this and we at the department of public health try to do a great deal of prevention to be sure that everyone knows about the law. why is the city actively enforces? there is reasons related to health and addiction, and the stores that break the law and sell to youth are making the profit at the advantage of the law abidi

this all began back in 2004 in san francisco. on the annual freedom to marry day, a day when gay and lesbian couples across the state applied for marriage licenses knowing they would be fund away. in 2004 the city clerk was told not to turn away the same-sex marriage couples and she the licenses. i was at city hall and it was chaos but joy office -- but joy office chaos. this said this action in motion and now two of the plaintiffs are a lesbian couple from berkeley and the other couples are gay men from southern california. we saw them go inside just a little bit ago. i am privileged to have a seat inside the supreme court. we are not allowed to tweet? there so you are going to have to wait for my live report tonight on abc7 news. live in washington, dc, outside the supreme court, this morning for abc7 news. >> she will be inside and will report back after the historic arguments on abc7 news going at 4:00 this afternoon. >> california lt. governor, attorney general hairharris will be at the supreme court all played a role in the same-sex marriage movement. chief justice john rob

francisco. like all small businesses, working for the city of san francisco is difficult. cash flow is a problem. invoices' get paid anywhere from 60 to 120 days. being cash for, i do not know how that would help me qualify for a loan, but it is a problem. so my question is, where do you go, if you do not have a lot of collateral, you do not have a lot of credit, have the you go about securing a line of credit? i have a lot of contracts for the next two years, but as my company grows, i cannot keep up with payroll. >> we have made loans in those situations. if you have contracts and can show us how they are going to be paid, if your credit is good, we would certainly like to take a look at that. we do not currently offer -- i should be careful. it is on and off whether we have a true line of credit. sometimes it can be structured in such a way to meet your cash flow needs, we can disperse it over time, allow you to pay it down. we have brochures back there. i encourage you to talk to us. >> let me add on that. over the last several years, a lot of small businesses have relied on the

in san francisco and help kids k-12 and small donations and work with infrastructure working with the kids. did a lot of coaching and not so much baseball but soccer but we are fully vested in our kids having access to athletics. having the process open and fair to them and we run across something in youth baseball we're not happy with. a coach who have been for years coaching two teams in youth baseball has been removed from coaching with really no public input. you can what did he do? did he pick up a trash can and throw it at a umpire? no. did he push kids? no. he was talking about an after season tiewrnment and emails and the commissioners vote that's it. it's final. this gentleman cant coach. we have 60 parents fit to be tied. he coaches 30 of these kids. he came from the wrong side of the trucks. these kids respect him and he is very, very just -- i mean the kids are just crest fallen and i am asking this commission to shoin a little daylight on what is it with rec and parks youth baseball? we got an email to show you. his decision is final. there is no one
